Sweet Summertime

School’s out, helllloooo summer!!! I survived finals week and junior year! I’m so glad to be done and to have a little break until Fall. I didn’t get the internship that I wanted so I decided to come home for the summer. It’s nice to be back, but I know I’m going to get a little bored because I am from the middle of nowhere. I’m thinking about reading a lot of books this summer.. any suggestions?

One of the best things about being home: real food! I was getting really sick of eating frozen broccoli, toast, and buttered noodles haha Although I’m pretty sick of pasta, that is what we had for dinner last night. It was delicious, though!

I love when my mom puts cheese inside of her meatballs! It’s seriously the best surprise in your mouth! I can never get enough cheese πŸ™‚

My dad was making so much fun of me when I started taking pictures of my food! haha I was so excited because I haven’t written in so long! I think my mom will enjoy that I featured her cooking in my post! Hi Mom! I know you’re creeping πŸ˜‰

Another nice thing about being home: salads!

I love salad! I love fresh veggies and fruits, especially in the summer πŸ™‚ So refreshing!

I’m so happy that it’s summer!!! Summer is my favorite season! I love the sun, the heat, the humidity, EVERYTHING! I was in the sun for almost 2 hours yesterday and I already have tan lines πŸ™‚ I love that I tan really easily! The weather for the rest of the week is going to be gorgeous with temperatures in the 70’s and lots of sun πŸ™‚ This makes for a very happy Sara!

Well I’ve gotta run. So much more I want to write about, but I have work in about 15 minutes! Gotta make that monaaaaaay πŸ˜›

What are you excited for this summer?

$97,880.95

Good morning! The only thing missing today is the sun and the beach πŸ˜› It’s going to be 76 degrees here then back down to 50 tomorrow.. PA weather is crazy..

This weekend me and 1,600 other students participated in Relay for Life! Despite the horrible weather, it was an overall success! I only managed to get about 3 hours of sleep in the back of my friends car, but it was so worth it. I was a FUNdraising captain this year so me and the other fundraising captains pretty much worked the fundraising tent all weekend. We sold all of the delicious baked goods we made along with t-shirts, bracelets, and raffles.Β I definitely ate the icing off of at least 20 cupcakes πŸ˜›

One of my best friends & my fundraising overall, Danielle, decided to donate her hair at the last minute! She is such an amazing person πŸ™‚

Thanks to Danielle’s wonderful mother, our fundraising tent was turned into the Up house!!

FUNdraising captains and overall!

(look at all of that mud!! :P) And at the end of Relay on Saturday, we found out how much we raised…

$97,880.95!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could not be more proud of Penn State, teams, and everyone who was involved!

I’m still trying to catch up on my sleep. Yesterday all I did the entire day was watch movies with my roommates. The only time I got off the couch was to get food and pee haha. We watched Away We Go (great movie!), American Beauty, The Ring, Grease, and The Wedding Date.

I went to bed pretty early, but I’m so tired today. I’m currently at a computer lab on campus typing this up. I have another class at 11:15, so I figured this is a good way to pass the time! After class I have to drag myself to the gym. I’m not really feeling it today, but I know I will feel great after working out. Half the battle is just getting there!

Rain Rain Go Away.. It’s Time for Relay!

Good afternoon πŸ™‚ I decided to skip my nap and catch up on some blogging before Relay for Life starts!! I was busy this morning setting up tents and tables in the cold rain for this 24 hour event! I’m so excited and know it’s going to be a great time! I’m a Fundraising Captain and I’m also on the Purple People Eaters team =) I just wish the weather was better.. the forecast does not look very promising for the rest of the day..

yuck

Tomorrow looks rain-free as of right now though, so that is a VERY good thing. I’ll post more about it tomorrow night after it’s all over. If you’re not sure what Relay is all about, check out this site and donate to a great cause: Relay for Life of Penn State

I started my day off with an early morning workout. I was not a happy camper when my alarm went off this morning, but as soon as I got up and going I knew it would be worth it. Early morning workouts are definitely the best. Once you get past the hurdle of actually getting out of bed at a crazy early time, everything else is easy peasy! I felt SO good after my workout and it has given me crazy energy all morning and afternoon. I’m definitely willing to add some more 6:30 am workouts into my daily routine!

After setting up for Relay, I came home and went right to the fridge. I made myself a turkey and feta panini which was delicious. Then, I made some mini Chocolate Chocolate Chip Muffins to satisfy my chocolate craving πŸ™‚

Now it’s time for me to eat and pack and head up to Relay for Life where I will be for the next 26 hours or so!

Question: How do you make comments automatically post instead of having to approve each one?

Bargain Buyer and Birthdays

Today is my Dad’s 50th birthday!!!!!

My dad is one of the best people in the entire world! He works so hard for my family and I couldn’t ask for a better father! He is a true inspiration to me. Wish I was home to celebrate!

Happy Birthday Dad, I Love You SO Much!!!!!!! ❀

I have been on the go all day! Went straight from my classes to the gym to do a crazy cardio interval workout & some rowing. Burned about 474 calories and felt great afterwards πŸ™‚

For lunch I made a panini for the first time ever using my George Foreman grill.

It looks a little sad but I swear it tasted delicious! I used only 4 simple ingredients: 2 slices of wheat bread, one slice of turkey breast, feta cheese, and some butter. I tried dipping it in some fat free italian dressing, but it was better without it! I can’t wait to experiment more!

Right after I ate, my friends called me and asked if I wanted to take a Walmart trip with them. Of course I said yes! So off we went! First, we stopped at the dollar store.

Emily & Danielle

Between Walmart and the Dollar Tree I got 6 items for $5.44. Pretty successful! I needed bread and I got a whole loaf of French bread for $0.90! I seriously have a problem when grocery shopping. It’s like a game to me to see how many items I can buy for the least amount of money. I’m pretty good at it, ask my roommates! Next I should start taking up couponing and be on the next episode of Extreme Couponing πŸ˜‰ (My roommates and I watched an episode last night and oh my gosh – CRAZY!)

I’m not sure how much I’ll be blogging in the next couple of days. I have Relay for Life tomorrow and Saturday which will consume all of my time. But I am starting to fall in love with blogging so it’s going to be extremely hard for me to stay away. I downloaded the app on my phone so maybe I’ll post from there πŸ˜›

Hello Blog World =)

Hey everyone!

This is my first post on my first blog and I couldn’t be more excited! I wanted to make this post special so I have been waiting for the perfect moment to write. I decided to start blogging because I wanted to try something new and share my ideas and thoughts with people. I also stumbled upon other blogs that really inspired me. I think blogging will be a very fun experience!

A little about me: I attend the Pennsylvania State University majoring in Accounting. I love PSU and I have made so many great friends here along the way. I’m originally from a very, very small town in the middle of the woods. I like the quiet, but I can’t deny that I love big cities!

Speaking of big cities, my friend and I went to New York City over our winter break. We had a very interesting first time on a subway experience, but we had such an amazing time! Of course we had to take a trip down to SoHo to see the Kardashian store, DASH! That family is such a guilty pleasure of mine. =P

I can’t wait to read different blogs, write more posts, and hopefully make some new friends! =)

What do you like most about blogging?
